A Message From Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
Being a school-based practitioner can be joyful and rewarding. Lately, it has also felt more challenging than ever. Over my decades of practice as an Occupational Therapist, I have witnessed much change. With increased expectations for evidence-based treatment and producing the best possible outcomes for our students, along with growing numbers of student needs, it can feel overwhelming. The demands for OT services in the academic environment have dramatically increased in recent years. Now more than ever we school-based practitioners are juggling so many barriers to consistently o?er best practices, while also holding onto the joy and rewards of our everyday work.
The focus of this one-day seminar is on practical, fun, and impactful current strategies and interventions that will increase the success of your school-based therapy outcomes. The content embodies AOTA's Vision 2025, IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) guidelines, while providing you with practical, doable strategies you can use immediately. My goal is to share my favorite practical strategies for putting the current best-practices into e?ect— to cross the bridge from theory to impactful therapy. I plan to share tips on how to increase your efficiency and effectiveness when collaborating with your teams to ensure carryover of your interventions. You will learn timesaving strategies that will ensure compliance with documentation requirements while e?ectively monitoring student progress and enhancing the e?cacy of your interventions, all of which truly does result in improved student outcomes.
Remembering that we have speci?c talents and skills that make us unique is key to being successful in our unique school-based practice. Our occupational therapy services are of vital importance to the students we serve. I look forward to the opportunity to share what I've learned at this one-day seminar and spend an informative and uplifting day together.
Sincerely,
	Constance M. de la Vega
P.S. I guarantee that after our time together at this seminar, you will leave refreshed and excited to implement new ideas for enhancing outcomes and improving your students' success.
