As educators, we know that providing a solid foundation of literacy skills to our students is essential to their success in school and in life. We work tirelessly to meet the needs of our diverse students including many who have or may have dyslexia, often without the information, tools, and resources we need to do it well. As part of a larger community of dedicated educators, we are fortunate that we now have access to a great deal of research on how to better meet the needs of all our struggling readers, regardless of their level of readiness. It's telling us that Structured Literacy is the most effective method for teaching reading and writing to students who experience unusual difficulties, especially those who have dyslexia.

To help our students with dyslexia reach their full reading potential, we want to become more familiar with the research, instructional strategies, and teaching implications of the six elements of structured literacy. And, more importantly, we are looking for practical strategies and ideas for putting the important elements of this method into practice in our classrooms. Good news! In this one-day interactive seminar, I will share with you all the practical strategies and ideas I've learned along the way so that you can implement them with your students immediately.

Working with so many struggling readers over the years, I have honed my ability to meet the needs of my students who have or may have dyslexia and help them achieve significantly improved results. Working with fellow dedicated educators taught me an important lesson on how powerful we can be when we work and learn together, especially on behalf of our students who have dyslexia!
