Dr. Amy Coopersmith, OTD, OTR/L, MA Ed, FAOTA, is an experienced OTP with over 30 years of experience as an occupational therapist and teacher. She implemented the ideas discussed in the seminar as an occupational therapist and found that children made faster progress and demonstrated greater motivation and engagement using these methods. Author of the Self-Determination Strategies Toolkit and the Captain Me™ program for young children, Amy strives to share her expertise with practitioners and educators on how to implement evidence-informed strategies to promote children's autonomy and success. Amy presents at national conferences and seminars where she shares her passion for translating research into practical, effective practice.
