Specifically Designed for Speech-Language Pathologists Serving Students in Grades PreK-12
- Implement a step-by-step approach for that difficult to remediate /R/ that is explicit, systematic, and sequential to finally maintain and generalize it
- Use this same step-by-step approach for all articulation errors to help students more quickly perceive, produce, maintain, and generalize any speech sound
- Learn multisensory cues for all consonant and vowel sounds to add to your therapy tools for remediating all speech sound disorders
- Receive a detailed digital resource handbook that provides the step-by-step approach provided in this seminar
Practical Ideas and Strategies
Sometimes, we get that /r/ that regardless of what strategies we use, it just won't remediate and generalize. Margo Kinzer Courter has developed a step-by-step approach based on the four conditions of motor planning to finally remediate that /r/! This same explicit, systematic, and sequential approach can also be applied to all speech sound disorders for successful remediation and quicker maintenance and generalization of all speech sounds. Watch as your students perceive and remediate speech sounds quicker using this systematic motor planning approach that relies on the use of multisensory cues and errorless practice! Acquire a dynamic assessment for determining where to begin therapy and next steps for remediation. Discover an approach that can be used through an MTSS/RTI approach or direct intervention.
You'll leave with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step approach and dynamic assessments and therapy materials to help you finally remediate that /r/ and all speech sounds more quickly!
Ten Key Benefits of Attending
- Target That Resistant /R/ and Other Speech Sounds From a Motor Planning Approach
Tried-and-true articulation therapy strategies often work for most students, but sometimes we have a student with that /r/ that just won't remediate … Learn a novel approach you can apply to both developmental and neurological speech sound disorders for quicker remediation - Assess the Multitude of /R/s Through a Dynamic Assessment
Gain a dynamic assessment that includes 48 initial and vocalic /r/s … Learn how to use multisensory cues to stimulate /r/ production for this assessment to determine which /r/ to use to begin remediation - Understand Motor Learning to Remediate All Speech Sound Disorders
Discuss the four conditions of motor learning theory to adjust your approach for /r/ and other speech sound disorders … Discover cues and techniques for errorless practice to remediate these sounds - Generalize That /R/ With a Step-By-Step Approach
Discuss how adding a new syllable or creating a new motor shape makes generalization tricky … Explore the systematic steps that may be required to move students from maintenance to generalization - Discover an Easy Step-By-Step Approach to Finally Remediate That /R/
Discuss a step-by-step approach that will lead you through practice, maintenance, and generalization of the multiple /r/s in English … Learn how to apply this approach to all speech sounds for remediation - Determine the Best Multisensory Cues for Remediation of All Speech Sound Disorders
Receive meaningful visual and tactile cues to target /r/ and other speech sound disorders through a motor planning approach - Determine the Link Between Persistent Speech Sound Disorders and Phonology/Morphology Development
Discover the research that shows how students with speech sound disorders are at greater risk for difficulty with phonology and morphology which are needed for literacy development … Examine practical ways to decrease this risk - Learn Visual Phonics Cues to Promote Correct Speech Sound Production
Use the See It & Say It Visual Phonics program to provide students with meaningful visual cues they can use to increase discrimination of sounds and links to symbols … Help students turn the visual cues into their own kinesthetic cues - Increase Student Discrimination of Their Speech Production
Discover practical strategies to support discrimination of speech sounds … Learn how to transfer support for correct production to students for quicker generalization - Receive a Detailed Speech Therapy Digital Resource Handbook and Special Online Access
Acquire an extensive digital resource handbook with a step-by-step approach for remediating /r/ and ways to apply this process to other speech sounds, including a decision-making guide for determining best practice … Gain special online access to Margo's website for additional resources specifically designed for this approach including a dynamic assessment, word lists, generalization tools, and more!

A Message From Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
We all have techniques that we have honed and used successfully to remediate /r/ and other speech sound disorders, BUT sometimes we get that /r/ that just won't remediate!
The step-by-step approach I will bring to you comes from my many years of working with grades PreK-12 students with that /r/ that just wouldn't remediate or generalize. My journey with this approach began years ago when I had a student who just couldn't get placement for /r/ let alone begin to remediate it. I remember saying to him, "If I had to explain how we do therapy, I am not sure I can." From this trial and error to finally remediate that /r/ came the approach I'm excited to share with you.
I have been successful over and over again using this approach for /r/ and now it is the only approach I use for all speech sound disorders – and not just for older students but for ALL students from preschool to grade 12. I want to help you see how in using this approach, you can more quickly remediate and generalize all speech sounds both through an RTI/MTSS process and well as through direct intervention services.
I look forward to sharing with you this step-by-step approach to finally remediate that /r/ as well as all speech sounds.
Sincerely,
Margo Kinzer Courter
P.S. I look forward to sharing this approach that I developed to finally remediate that /r/ and demonstrate how this is easily applied to all speech sounds for quicker remediation.
