A Message From Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

For years as a school-based OT working with students, I dealt with daily issues related to lack of student motivation and engagement, poor decision-making and problem-solving skills, little interest in goal setting, and simply a general disinterest in learning. As a dedicated member of the team, I wanted answers. This led me to conduct research into practical solutions to better support a wide range of developmental disabilities. I understand the importance of equipping our students with the tools they need to overcome challenges, and I have them for you!

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of witnessing the transformation of many students, as they learned to focus on their strengths and conquer challenges. My approach, firmly rooted in self-determination theory, has yielded remarkable results – increasing students' motivation, engagement, and self-efficacy. By the end of the seminar, you will have an array of practical strategies to help students with a wide range of diagnoses to regulate their own behavior, boost their self-perception, and confidently tackle even the most challenging learning objectives. We explore dozens of practical solutions you can apply to your practice immediately. I want to leave you doable ideas you can use to boost your students' confidence, motivation, achievement, and overall participation at school and in their daily lives.

I am delighted to invite you to this one-day seminar where we'll dive deep into methods to support students with developmental disabilities through effective Occupational Therapy techniques that leverages their strengths and leads them toward greater success. I look forward to meeting you there!

Warm regards,
Amy Coopersmith , OTD, OTR/L, MA Ed

P.S. As an experienced school-based Occupational Therapist, I know just how valuable your time is. My focus will be on sharing practical strategies that you can put into practice immediately!
