Practical Ideas and Strategies
Are you looking for clear and practical ways to enhance your Phonics instruction to help your students become skilled readers? In this engaging NEW seminar, literacy educator and national presenter Emily Muccianti shares powerful, evidence-based strategies for building strong readers in Grades K-2. You'll discover how to make intentional instructional shifts such as moving from word walls to sound walls, embedding phonemic awareness in daily lessons, and creating structured literacy centers that strengthen decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Each strategy is designed to fit seamlessly within your current reading program so you can enhance, not replace, what's already working.
You'll leave with ready-to-use phonemic awareness routines, decodable text resources, and multimodal activities that make foundational skills explicit, engaging, and effective for every learner from emerging readers to those who need extra support.

A Message From Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
Helping young students unlock the code of reading is truly one of the most rewarding parts of our work. There is nothing quite like the moment when a child blends those sounds, recognizes the word, and realizes they are reading. After more than 30 years supporting classrooms, intervention teams, and school leaders, that moment still gives me goosebumps.
At the same time, I know this shift toward evidence-based reading instruction can feel overwhelming. Many of us were trained in approaches that don't fully align with what the research now tells us. The good news? Moving toward the Science of Reading doesn't mean abandoning everything you do well. It's about refining, enhancing, and aligning instruction so more students experience those breakthrough moments—sooner and more often.
During our time together, we'll take the research and make it practical. I'll share classroom-tested strategies for strengthening phonemic awareness, phonics, and decoding—within the reading program you already use. You'll see how small, intentional shifts—from sound to print instruction to explicit, hands-on routines—can transform outcomes without requiring an entirely new curriculum.
My goal is simple: that you leave with tools you can implement tomorrow, clarity that empowers rather than overwhelms, and renewed confidence in helping every student become a successful, fluent reader.
With appreciation,
Emily Muccianti
P.S. I can't wait to connect with you at the seminar and share the simple, powerful ways you can make the Science of Reading come alive in your classroom to enhance your students' reading skills.
