A Message From Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
It's tough to see our youngest students struggle to grasp foundational academic concepts while progressing in their language skills. As Pre-K and Kindergarten educators, we've tried a variety of strategies, including all the ideas that trickle down from the upper grades. It often feels like we're having to adapt ideas for our age group or missing that special connection between their native language abilities and their academic performance. We know deep down that even in the early years of school, academic vocabulary knowledge and skills hold the key to their success, and we need a better way to help them get there.
That's why I'm thrilled to invite you to this unique one-day seminar designed specifically for Pre-K and Kindergarten educators who work with English language learners. This seminar is all about practical strategies that you can immediately use in your classroom. We'll explore ways to help your ELL students better understand the academic content and basic concepts you're teaching. By incorporating ELL learning techniques that are proven to help young ELL students, you'll see improvements in their confidence and skills right away! The best part is that these strategies have been tested in Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms and have proven to be highly effective. My hope is that this one-day seminar will give you tools and resources you can use immediately to better support your ELL students and help them boost their confidence and success at school.
So, please join me for this idea-packed day where we'll explore powerful strategies that can make a real difference for your young EL students. It's also proven to be a unique and fantastic opportunity to connect and network with other primary teachers from around the country who share interest in helping young English learners get a solid start in their school journey. I can't wait to meet you at the seminar!
Sincerely,
Christi Gilbert
