A Message From Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

Fifth Grade is like a space-time glitch where one minute you feel like a kindergarten teacher and the next you are sure you're surrounded by high schoolers judging your every move. There is never a dull moment, and the growth we get to witness from early fall to late spring is remarkable. I've come to learn that Fifth Grade Teachers hold a special place in our students' memories… and I absolutely love it! As Fifth Grade teachers, we want to make that memory the best it can be.

My philosophy has long been to be the teacher I'd want for my own children. Because this translates into an academically focused classroom, I've developed successful strategies for getting to know my students and making connections with them in ways that served them academically, socially, and emotionally. For me, creating a challenging yet playful and nurturing classroom is the sweet spot, especially in Fifth Grade.

I understand firsthand the challenges you are facing as a teacher of Fifth Graders, now more than ever. My goal for this day is to share powerful tools, tips, lessons, and games that I have successfully used with my own Fifth Grade students and shared with teachers and students around the world.
