About the Instructor – Judy Lynch

Judy Lynch is a highly experienced K-6 teacher, Reading Recovery Teacher and a national reading expert. Judy has taught in low socioeconomic schools with large Title I populations and with children with ethnic and language diversities since 1993. Her passion is narrowing the achievement gap in reading and providing literacy for all students. She is also the author of four popular professional books for Scholastic: First Grade in Photographs (2009); Making Word Walls Work (2005); Word-Learning, Word-Making, Word-Sorting, 52 Lessons for Success (2002); and Easy Lessons for Teaching Word Families (1998). In addition, she has authored Practical Strategies for Narrowing the Achievement Gap in Reading (Grades K-6), the extensive resource handbook each participant will receive at the seminar. Known for her high energy and infectious enthusiasm, Judy is a dynamic speaker. She speaks at national and state reading conferences and consults with schools across the country. Her ideas are exciting and innovative, yet highly practical. She not only demonstrates key strategies, but also shows them on video in real classrooms to help you more effectively visualize key strategies with your own students.
