SCECHs are only for teachers/educators/professionals who hold a Provisional, Professional, Occupational, School Administrator, School Psychologist, or School Guidance Counselor certificates/licenses.

For our trainings, participants are eligible to earn 5 MI SCECH (State Continuing Education Clock Hours) per day of attendance.

To receive SCECHs, it is necessary fully attend any training and complete the following MDE (Michigan Department of Education) requirements listed below:

  • All participants are required to have a MDE - issued educator's certificate or license and an account on the MOECS (Michigan Online Educators Certification System).
  • At the end of a training, you will be asked to fill out a BER online evaluation. If you are interested in MI SCECH, choose 'YES' when asked if you are interested in state CEUs. The next pages allow you to choose 'MI SCECH.' Please fill out all requested information that follows as this is a requirement of Michigan.
  • If you are interested in SCECH, you will be asked for your PIC (Personal Identification Code) Number during the BER evaluation. If you do not know your PIC Number, below are a few points of contact:
  • You will also be asked to provide an email address. Please provide the email address used when creating your account on the MOECS.
  • The Certificate of Participation is NOT used to determine eligibility for SCECH, so you MUST complete the end-of-day BER evaluation at the program so your information can be submitted to our state-approved sponsor, Madonna University.
  • This information is used as verification of attendance when determining eligibility for SCECH credit. Once our sponsor uploads your information in the MOECs, you will receive an automated email that requests completion of the common evaluation (this evaluation is not the same as the BER evaluation). It is recommended that you complete your evaluation within 30 days of receiving email notification. Once the evaluation is completed, your MOECS account will be credited.
