He is known throughout the United States for his motivating and engaging presentations that are filled with easy-to-teach, yet academically rich activities for busy teachers. He is a frequent presenter at conferences and schools throughout the country.
Elizabeth (Liz) Mirra is a science instructional coach and a middle and high school science educator. She was involved in reviewing and providing feedback on the Next Generation Science Standards throughout their development and has worked with numerous school districts providing professional development on best science practices and assistance with aligning curriculum to the new NGSS standards. Elizabeth is the recipient of the prestigious President's Award for Excellence in Science Teaching.
Marjorie (Marge) Porter is an exemplary science teacher and education consultant, committed to instructional excellence and the creative use of technology to enhance and support student learning. Marjorie has presented outstanding professional development seminars, both regionally and nationally, on a variety of NGSS topics. She is a highly experienced science teacher, national presenter and author with a passion for phenomena-driven inquiry and the NGSS.

You will receive an extensive NGSS digital resource handbook specifically designed for this conference. Included in the handbook are resource materials for ALL conference sessions, even those you don't attend. These materials include:

Registrants will also receive a printed copy of the resource handbook as long as their registration is received in the BER office at least 15 calendar days before the event.
Semester Credit Option
Up to four graduate level professional development credits are available with an additional fee and completion of follow-up practicum activities. Details for direct enrollment with University of Massachusetts Global, a nonprofit affiliate, will be available at this program.
Meet Inservice Requirements
At the end of the program, each attendee will receive a certificate of participation that may be used to verify hours of participation in meeting continuing education requirements.
