A Message From Your Seminar Leader
I love teaching educators because I have walked in your shoes and still do. I understand the effects that defiance can have on a teacher. It can be emotionally draining. As expectations for the academic performance of your students has increased, the behavioral needs of today’s students increased as well. So many students are without the skills to emotionally regulate and recognize only two ways to get their needs met … by arguing and being defiant. While this may feel effective to them, it comes at a great cost to their academic and social success. You might be in what feels like a “between a rock and a hard place” situation. I will help you get to a much better place where both you and your students experience much greater success.
Teachers need effective strategies to deal with defiant, argumentative students. I’ve brought together the best strategies that are behaviorally sound, proven to work and lead our students to see the value of making better choices. This is the point from which we can pre-teach, re-direct, reinforce and practice the skills they need to succeed in the classroom. You will be given materials to assist with all of these methods.
