About the Instructor – Kristen Remenar

Kristen Remenar has extensive experience as an outstanding teacher and a popular librarian. Her enthusiasm about the best books and abundant web tools and apps - and how to use them to teach literacy skills - is sure to motivate and inspire! Her passion is discovering great books and innovative tools for young students and sharing a wealth of ways to inspire children to fall in love with the powerful world of reading.

As a librarian, Kristen has served as a member and as chairperson for the Michigan Library Association’s Mitten Committee, which selects the best books for children published in a calendar year. She was a judge for the 2011 Cybils Awards in the fiction picture book category and she is a contributing writer for ReaderKidZ. In addition, Kristen is the author of The Best Children’s Books and Powerful Activities, Web Tools and Apps to Build Your Students’ Literacy Skills (Grades K-3), the extensive resource handbook each participant will receive at the seminar.

Kristen delights her audiences with practical, proven, easy-to-implement ideas for using outstanding books, web tools, apps, and resources to meet the diverse needs of students and strengthen their literacy skills.
