Cheryl has presented her seminars throughout the United States and Canada and has been the keynote speaker, as well as presenter, at many national conferences for classroom teachers. She received her Master’s of Science degree in Reading and Teacher Leadership in 2005 and was honored as the outstanding academic scholar in education by Dominican University.

She is the author of Guided Writing, Shared Writing, Interactive Writing, and Modeled Writing: Practical Strategies for Beginning and Developing Writers; Using Literacy Centers to Strengthen Your Reading and Writing Instruction; and Current, Best Strategies for Helping Your Emergent, Early and Fluent Readers, as well as the resource handbook for this seminar, Improving the Reading Skills of ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS: Practical Strategies for Strengthening Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and Fluency (Grades K‑6).
