What is BER?

Bureau of Education & Research (BER) is the leading provider of professional development training for educators in North America.

Founded by educators in 1976, the Bureau has grown to provide national and regional training programs across the entire United States. The Bureau is especially proud of its outstanding presenters, all of whom have extensive practical experience in their content areas and many of whom are national and international leaders in their respective fields.

Our goal is to provide high quality programs based on sound research, with an emphasis on practical strategies and techniques that can be immediately implemented.

We stand behind every program and training product we provide. If a participant is not satisfied with a training program or product, we provide a 100% refund of the fee.

How do I register for an event or conference?

Online: Visit the Events section of the website. You may search for events ty topic and filter by grade span. By selecting the Register button associated with a specific event you may proceed to register online.

How do I get access to BER Live Online Event?

Participants will receive an email with access instructions four to five days prior to the event.

If your class is scheduled to start this morning, please give us a call after 5:30 am Pacific time: 1-800-735-3503.

What types of re-certification units are available at your programs?

Participants of both the Live Online Events and those completing the Recorded Version online receive a Certificate of Participation that may be used to verify five (5) continuing education hours. In additional, state CEUs are available for both versions of the course. For details, visit our continuing education page: www.ber.org/ceus. Options and requirements vary by state and province. I would like to take the class for additional college credit. What do I do?

Graduate elective credit is offered through University of Massachusetts Global, a nonprofit affiliate of the University of Massachusetts, with an additional fee. You will need to attend the entire event, as well as complete a final project. There is no need to sign up or pay university fees in advance of the event. Full details regarding college credit will be available at the event. Are your programs guaranteed?

We stand behind every program we produce. If a participant is not satisfied with a program, we provide a 100% refund of the fee.

May another person substitute for me?

Substitution may be made at any time prior to the beginning of the event. If you know prior to the day of the program, please give us a call and we will take care of it for you. Otherwise, just have your substitute let us know when he or she checks in the morning of the event.

What should I do if I need to cancel my registration?

100% of your paid registration fee will be refunded if you can't attend and notify us at least 10 days before the seminar. Provided we have prior notification at least 10 days before the seminar, 100% of your paid registration fee is refundable. Cancellations made less than 10 days prior may transfer any funds paid to another seminar or will be refunded less a $15.00 cancellation fee. Substitutions may be made at anytime without charge.

I am not able to attend the event. Would I be able to purchase
the resource handbook without attending the event?

We are sorry, but resource handbooks are not available apart from event attendance, unless you purchase a recorded version (which is available for most one-day seminars): recorded versions include full access to the resource handbook.

What should I do if adverse weather conditions are expected? Do you ever cancel the event?

Unfortunately, we sometimes cancel events if our instructor is unable to travel to the event site due to inclement weather or last minute travel problems.
If schools in your area are closed due to inclement weather, please click here (www.ber.org/weather) the morning of the event before you leave home to confirm whether or not the event will be held. If the event is held and you are unable to attend due to the weather, we offer a full refund.

May I audiotape or videotape the event?

We are sorry that due to copyright issues we cannot give permission to audiotape or videotape events. However, most of our one-day seminars are available as recorded versions. If you are interested, check the event on our website and select the recorded version.

I need verification of my attendance to meet district and/or state requirements.
How do I obtain verification?

All attendees will receive a personalized certificate of attendance at the end of the event which may be used to verify your participation in meeting continuing education requirements. Please visit our CEU page for more information, www.ber.org/ceus.

What do I do if I have a specific ADA request?

When is my payment due?

Payment is due in our office prior to the event. We accept a valid, signed purchase order as a promise of payment.
