A Message From Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

For years I have embraced the challenge of teaching in inclusive classrooms, with students who need creative and varied instructional strategies. While I have developed and utilized many techniques, the most effective method I have ever found for meeting these needs has been collaborative teaching. Co-teaching with others has broadened my own skills, made it easier to match styles to students, and provided students with a richer and more effective learning experience. It has also spurred me to learn the latest teaching techniques and stay on the cutting-edge of my field for the sake of my students.

But what exactly is co-teaching and how do we do it effectively? As an educator who prides myself in being practical and realistic, I went looking for these answers in literature and in schools. I began to try different approaches – saving the ideas that worked easily and effectively and filing the ones that did not. I then began talking to and visiting with educators from around the country to learn about their best strategies for co-teaching. I would love to share with you my findings! Come and join me so that I can share tips, timesavers, creative tools, and wonderful techniques that can enhance your co-teaching right away. For those joining me a second time, I promise to share brand-new ideas as well as proven favorites, including some cool tech tools!

While this seminar will cover the critical foundations of co-teaching, our focus will be on practical strategies for creating and refining powerful co-taught classrooms. I’m looking forward to sharing with you dozens of ideas that you can take back to your school and easily implement.
