A Message From Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

For years I have embraced the challenge of teaching in inclusive classrooms with students who need creative and varied instructional strategies. Some of my students have special education labels, some are English language learners, some gifted, and many have no label at all but still have unique needs. How do we nurture success for all? The most effective methods I have ever found for meeting those needs has been collaborative teaching. Co-teaching with others provides students with a richer and more effective learning experience. Two teachers, with different expertise, planning and teaching together CAN meet the wide needs in a classroom! Seeing it happen firsthand made me want to spread the news to other educators. So I began working with schools all over the country, even around the world, to make effective co-teaching practices become a reality for all.

But how do we do co-teaching most effectively? We now have a growing body of experience, literature and research that tells us what the best co-teachers do. In this two-day, intensive leadership institute, I will share with you what we’ve learned – what works and what doesn’t. Why make mistakes if you can learn from others’ experience? Why struggle to develop your own tools and protocols if you can adopt or adapt things that we know are proven to work?

Come and join me so I can share tips, timesavers and tools that will enhance co-teaching in your school or district right away. Leave with a renewed energy and practical strategies to use in your own co-taught classroom or to share with colleagues in your school and district. Get answers to the questions you have about how to make co-teaching work, grow and last. Together we can develop successful co-teaching practices that help all students succeed.

Sincerely,
Anne Beninghof

P.S. This two-day institute has been designed for K-12 teachers and leaders. Because I have co-taught at high school, middle school and elementary school, there will be lots of practical ideas for all grade levels!
