Dear Colleague:

Being a school-based OT can be fun, professionally challenging and occasionally frustrating. Our expanding role as a key related service provider pulls us in many different directions throughout the school year. But in the end, we all want to be effective and make a positive impact on the students, schools and families we serve.

The content of this seminar will embody AOTA’s 2025 Vision, IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act) guidelines. It will help you expand and define your crucial role as a school-based OT. Learn practical ways to evaluate your professional competence and employ the online tools our national organizations have to guide your individual professional development plan.

During our time together, I will share ideas on how to implement current, best practices in the most efficient and effective ways possible. You will learn timesaving strategies to monitor progress and enhance the efficacy of your interventions. We will also discuss a variety of ways to consider levels of service. A variety of active learning activities will help solidify ways you can implement the ideas presented. In addition, you will have the opportunity to share your ideas and experiences throughout the day.

Our occupational therapy services are of vital importance to the school-age children we serve. We want to provide our best for our students AND still have fun doing it!  I hope you take this opportunity to learn with me.
