A Message From Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

I LOVE teaching 5th grade! During their fifth grade year, students can make an amazing amount of growth, which, simply put, is fun to watch! I am also proud to be in a profession where I can share my knowledge and passion with others to help them achieve greater success. This applies to teaching my students as well as working with other fifth grade teachers, like you, who share my passion for the classroom.

As a current fifth grade teacher, I know the real challenges you face. Preparing our students to meet the Common Core State Standards and keeping up with the newest, latest apps, websites, and other technology tools is a time-consuming task. Let me save you hours of time in this fast-paced and strategy-packed day! I will give you the best-of-the-best technology ideas, ways to easily use them in your classroom and show you how to tie it all into the Common Core State Standards. Each of the strategies and activities I will share with you promote student ownership in their own learning and growth. The core of my teaching philosophy is that the person who is doing, is also the person who is learning. Students develop a deeper understanding of skills and concepts through modeling, classroom interactions, choice, practice, and tapping into the latest technology.

I will share with you low-cost/no-cost, practical, hands-on strategies that can be incorporated into your fifth grade classroom regardless of the curriculum you are using. I will give you the most current and engaging tools for learning that will motivate, energize and actively involve your students. My goal is to give you a renewed enthusiasm for teaching fifth graders and to have a toolkit filled with new, practical ideas to share your excitement immediately with your students. I look forward spending a high-energy, fast-paced , informative, and FUN day with you!

Sincerely,
Jeff Stenroos
